Railway Technology for Rail Vehicles - From Control Technology to Indication
Since 1987, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION has developed and supplied electronic and electrotechnical components and systems for rail vehicles. At its Weinstadt site in Germany, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION develops solutions for rail vehicle manufacturers, system suppliers, and operators, as well as for companies involved in the modernization and retrofit of existing vehicle fleets. LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION combines decades of experience in railway technology with in-house development and engineering expertise and a broad product portfolio specifically tailored to the requirements of rail vehicles.
One of LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION's key strengths is its comprehensive approach. The company covers the entire signal, control, and power supply chain from sensor to actuator with a broad range of solutions. These include signal conditioning and conversion, decentralized I/O systems, components for train control and management systems, network technology, relays, and semiconductor switches. The portfolio is complemented by intelligent current monitoring and protection systems, power supplies, logic modules, visual and acoustic signal transducers, and charging solutions for passenger and vehicle areas.
Electronic components used in rail applications must operate reliably over long periods of time. Vibration, shock loads, changing temperatures, and electromagnetic interference place high demands on the technology used. LÜTZE therefore develops its products specifically for the demanding operating conditions in rail vehicles and takes the relevant requirements of the rail industry into account. Decades of experience in the development and application of railway electronics provide an important foundation. Safety-related control functions up to SIL 2 are also an integral part of the portfolio.
In addition to proven standard products, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION offers configurable platforms and customer-specific solutions. This allows products and systems to be precisely tailored to different vehicle types, technical architectures, and operating conditions. In-house development resources enable close collaboration as early as the concept and specification phase. Support extends through system integration and series production to lifecycle support and the modernization of existing vehicles.
Another key focus is reducing complexity within the vehicle. Flexibly configurable standard products, adaptable modular platforms, and wide-range voltage designs can reduce the number of different variants.
As rail transportation becomes increasingly digitalized, networking, diagnostics, and the availability of operating data are also becoming more important. LÜTZE offers TRDP-based communication solutions, intelligent current monitoring, and data acquisition capabilities for predictive maintenance. The goal is to provide greater transparency into vehicle conditions, identify faults more quickly, and increase availability throughout the entire lifecycle.
The intelligent use of existing infrastructure also plays an important role in the modernization of existing rail vehicles. High-speed Ethernet over existing vehicle wiring can help integrate modern data communication into existing fleets without having to replace the entire wiring infrastructure. In this way, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION combines the requirements of new vehicle generations with cost-effective retrofit concepts for vehicles that have already been in successful operation for many years.
Quality and reliable processes are also integral to the railway technology specialist. LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION works according to ISO 22163-certified processes (IRIS) and combines them with comprehensive consulting, development, and application expertise.
As part of the Amphenol Group, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION combines specialized railway technology and German engineering expertise with the technological resources and international reach of a global technology group. This creates additional opportunities to support customers worldwide and combine technologies across company and product boundaries into high-performance solutions for the mobility of tomorrow.
Whether a new rail vehicle, vehicle platform, retrofit, or modernization project: LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION sees itself as a technology partner for safe, reliable, connected, and cost-effective rail vehicles - from the initial idea throughout the entire lifecycle.
